Who says that Halloween costumes have to take a lot of time and effort?

If you’re not a big fan of spending loads of money on a Halloween outfit, or if you’ve left it too late to pick up a good one, then fear not. There’s still plenty of time to create one yourself with a little do-it-yourself Halloween magic. Here are a few simple yet effective Halloween outfits that you can pull off even if you have little time to spare.

Rosie the Riveter

If you’re a big “girl power” supporter, then you’ll love this simple Halloween outfit. Although it isn’t technically frightening, it’s easy to do in a hurry. All you need is a long-sleeved denim or blue top with the sleeves rolled past the elbow with a pair of high-waisted jeans. Tie your hair up and add a red bandana around your head. Don’t forget to pouf your fringe up and apply some red lipstick and a flick of eyeliner for a true 1940s look.

Fortune Teller

If you’re looking for a fun outfit, then a fortune teller is perfect. Not only will you look impressive, but you’ll also have lots of fun making up fortunes for people as the night goes on. Start off with a top and long skirt as the basis for your costume. If you can, find a sparkly shawl and head scarf to tie your outfit together. Make sure to add lots of gold and flashy jewellery and keep your makeup fairly simple. Add some Halloween glitter along your cheekbones or in your hair for extra flashes of sparkle.

Mime Artist

A Halloween classic, the mime artist costume is perfect if you want to have a break from talking all night. Fairly easy to put together with stuff you already have in, this outfit won’t break the bank. All you need is some white face paint and use black eyeliner to create diamond shapes around your eyes. Wear black clothes or a stripey black and white top if you have one. White gloves are a great addition but aren’t necessary

Vampire

Vampires are a key Halloween character and are really easy to recreate. Get rid of the white face makeup and go for a more edgier look instead. A pair of black skinny jeans and a long sleeve top is perfect for your costume, as this is all about your makeup style. A deep red lipstick and some red eyeshadow smudged under your eyes will help to achieve the true vampire look and will add some colour to your overall outfit. For a little extra something, add some red glitter under your eyes too.

Wednesday Addams

The perfect, last-minute Halloween costume, this is ideal if you forgot about your outfit or are heading somewhere last minute. All you need is a long-sleeved black dress or top with a white collar. If you don’t have one, you can always make one or take it off a shirt and sew it on. Just plait your hair and dust some white powder onto your face to get pale looking skin.
